Why in-shed and web-based management?

MilkHub provides in-shed management through "built for purpose" displays, pull cord and keypad. They are targeted for the milking staff to provide alerts as needed with minimum disruption to the milking process.

MilkHub also accumulates a comprehensive and up-to-the-minute set of information about cows and plant. This is targeted at the farm manager to make practical and effective strategic business decisions. This information is presented as a set of tools in the form of a web-based decision support system accessible wherever there is an internet connection - for example corporate, home or shed office

What do I get with web-based management?

Up-to-the-minute information is available at a glance through quick reports. These include:

  • Operational summary of cow and plant statistics
  • Mastitis report with worst mastitis cows
  • Yield report with lowest yield cows
  • Plant report with per bail performance during milking
  • Cleaning report with per bail performance during cleaning

 

Comprehensive 'per cow' information is available with a herd management report. This includes columns for:

  • Cow visual ID (cow number) and EID
  • Mastitis and Yield
  • Weight (where scales are fitted)
  • Derived values such as change in yield and weight as indicators of poor performance
  • Feed times (where feeder interface is fitted)
  • User defined data (e.g. herd number and year of birth)
  • Imported data (e.g. columns from Minda custom report)
  • In addition, powerful trend lines for cows and groups can be shown to indicate relative performance.

 

How do I make use of this information?

The MilkHub system provides a powerful but easy to use set of tools to turn information into action. For example cows can be selected into highly focused views such as cows with high mastitis and losing yield and losing weight. These can be made into a group and/or booked for drafting and attention in the shed via the in-shed display or drafting gate (where installed).
